Vindictus introduces Episode 4 in December

Posted on 23 November 2010 by GillRider

Yessss! Here it comes! Nexon will be bringing Episode 4 of Vindictus in early December!

Episode 4 will host a series of new features:

  • Two new dungeons, Prairie Entrance and the Ruins of Sanctity - As players make their way across the Prairie Entrance, they will have to tread carefully as this wide-open space is littered with traps. The Ruins of Sanctity have become overgrown with vegetation due to frequent heavy rain, creating a sense of gloom that seems to haunt the ruins.
  • New enemies –  a new clan of Gnolls, deaderlier spiders and evil toads
  • New bosses – Goliath, Dim Gray, Warchief Black Scar, and Giant Spider
  • New skills – Berserk, Lightning Fury and Large Shield Mastery
  • New level cap at 44

We at GamersRoute are super excited about Episode 4. Early December is just around the corner, but feast your eyes on these screenshots while you wait! See you at the Prairie!

Vindictus Open Beta Test is here! Well, sort of..

Posted on 13 October 2010 by ClassicMoments

Well, at least it’s supposed to be here, on October 13, 2010.

Some people say developers and publishers are delivering betas on purpose. Maybe, but with our QA experience on gaming industry, we find that many things can actually go wrong, with the worst timing ever, all at the same time.

Well, as we’re writing this, it’s not even 11am PDT, yet people are going nuts on Nexon for not starting Vindictus OBT. Well, crazed gamers are always a good sign for developers and publishers, so congratulations, Nexon!

If you still haven’t checked this free-to-play adventure MMORPG, head over to the Official Vindictus website and sign up for the OBT.

Vindictus Campfire Screenshots

Posted on 05 October 2010 by GillRider

We have more Vindictus news and screenshots! These shots are of campfires that come in handy at Hoarfrost Hollow, where players will be fighting not only monsters, but the cold as well.

The campfire kits allow players to use the campfire feature in the game. By sitting close to the fire, players can get bonuses to health regeneration, and sitting there long enough, players will receive a temporary bonus to their attack and defense!

Not only that, the campfire kit also comes equipped with an anvil, allowing players to repair damaged equipment at the dungeon instead of having to wait to return to town.

However, players are limited to building one campfire per dungeon, and does not protect players from enemy attacks. Players will have to strategically build one in the dungeon to maximize the use of the kit.

Vindictus – Early Access Beta keys giveaway!

Vindictus – Early Access Beta keys giveaway!

Posted on 10 September 2010 by ClassicMoments

One of the most anticipated MMOs, Vindictus is kicking off its early access beta period on September 15, 2010. The cool thing about this exclusive beta is that the players will get to keep all the stats and items obtained for the official release. Vindictus Early Access Beta will be running until October 5, 2010.

This beautiful, free-to-play MMO is based on a modified Source Engine from Valve, with a physics engine going as far as breaking your armor into pieces. Story-driven missions, great customization (you can even customize your underwear) and crafting system, Vindictus is indeed the game you want to look out for.

Note: We’re out of keys for now.

PAX 2010 – Vindictus hands-on

Posted on 04 September 2010 by ClassicMoments

We’re excited. Why?
We think we’ve just found an awesome game that we can fall in love with, for a long time to come.

When we fist saw the game screenshots, we didn’t give much attention to it. It looked pretty, but that’s as far as we knew. After a meeting with Nexon however, we were just glad that we started off the first day of PAX 2010 with Vindictus.

If you read the specs of the game, you’ll see that Vindictus offeres plenty of elements that many hardcore gamers would appreciate. Vindictus is beautifully rendered with modified Source Engine, enabling an awesome physics engine where things can be destroyed as you might expect in a real world. This story-driven game is based on Celtic mythology.

But our gameplay experience uncovers more than that. Fast-paced, combo-packed action RPG elements with support of gamepad controllers encourages traditional PC gamers as well as the console gamers. Though character customization (stats and cosmetic) and controls can go as deep as any hardcore gamers would wanted, it’s not hard to master the combos at all.

Vindictus provides characters rather than the jobs and classes. There are still skill trees for players to mess around with, and deep character customization + the armor crafting system can easily differentiate the looks among players. How deep is the character customization? With the help of physics engine and crafting system, the armors can actually be destoryed, and the characters will be left with their underwear. And yes, you can even customize your underwear. If you want more customization than that, you need help.

One of the best parts is that Vindictus is FREE-TO-PLAY. Yes, we’re not joking. Nexon is famous for their free-to-play games (remember our last year’s coverage of Nexon?), and with Vindictus, they’ve just raised the bar for the available free-to-play market in the U.S.

Easy to control, hack-and-slash fun with an in-depth game system of MMORPG, we truly couldn’t find any faults with Vindictus. Yes, it’s still in its early beta stage, and we might have to play for days or weeks to get the whole idea of the game, but we can’t stop expressing our love towards Vindictus.

We’ll be giving out access keys for the upcoming open beta of Vindictus. It’ll begin on September 15, 2010 so make sure to be here when we give out those keys. In the meantime, check out the official Vindictus website for more information.
