Tekken Global Championship 2010 – world final video

The best of the best Tekken players visited Japan from 8 different countries, set the score.

There were two categories; Tekken 6 for PS3 and Xbox360.
For PS3 final, it was “YUU” from Japan and “JDCR” from Korea. JDCR won the final.
For Xbox360 final, it was “NIN” and “Boradoldol” both from Korea. NIN won.

It’s no real surprise there; Korea is one of few countries where huge sponsors supporting professional game players to be, well, professional gamers. I guess StarCraft isn’t the only game that Korea’s good at anymore though.

TEKKEN 6 free online update

TEKKEN 6 free online update

Posted on 24 November 2009 by GillRider

A serious flaw fighting games can have now days is in online gameplay. Most fighting games are all about special moves, counters, and combos, none of which can be successfully pulled off without reflexes, and correct button timing. It’s awesome to be able to fight your friends or strangers online, but if gameplay isn’t up to par, it just ruins the entire experience. But fear not, we have updates! YES! Tekken fans rejoice! A free update to enhance online gameplay is scheduled to be released on Turkey Day, November 26th.

The following enhancements will be made to online battles:

Improved input response: improvement of the game’s responsiveness to button / command inputs;
Selectable search priorities for ranked matches: players will be able to set search priorities for opponents in ranked matches based on comparable rank or connection quality as well as location;
Optimized data transmission between fighters and spectators: fight data will be optimized in order to reduce the bandwidth load on the host’s console;
Signal strength bars: the signal strength bar will reflect connection quality more accurately;
Chance to cancel match: players will be able to cancel the match before it begins once the opponent’s signal strength has been displayed on ranked matches.

This update is not to be confused with the online co-op Scenario Campaign mode, which is scheduled for release separately this winter.

Posted on 21 October 2009 by GillRider

Namco Bandai Games let us in on their line-up titles they’ll be exhibiting at the MCM Expo in Docklands Excel Arena this weekend (10/24-10-25).

One of these titles is the highly anticipated MMO Star Trek Online. Along with hi-spec PCs running a closed beta, Terry Ferrel (Jadzia Dax) and Nicole De Boer (Ezri Dax) from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and acclaimed writer for DS9 Ron D Moore will be conducting signings for all the fans.

Another exciting title is the highly anticipated game: Tekken 6. At this stand, Phil Mackenzie, who won the recent NEO Empire tournament (with a broken arm!) will be attempting to set the Guinness World Record for the longest winning streak between 10am and 1pm. Official Guinness adjucators will be there to witness this event. All challengers are welcome to take him on, so if you’re in the area, you have a chance to claim the Tekken throne!

The new artwork for Lili and Roger Jr. has surfaced.

I wouldn’t have guess that the characters are from Tekken series; the art is somewhat different than what I’ve seen.

And if you feel like watching a game promotional video with some panty shots, here it is:

Tekken 6 will be available on October 30th, 2009 for PS3 and Xbox360.

One punch closer to be done.

The highly anticipated fighting title, Tekken 6, development is complete.

Namco Bandai Games Europe tells the world that we are one step closer to kicking ass.
They’re also saying that for some territories, there will be a PS3 bundle available for gamers who didn’t have a perfect excuse to buy a PS3 yet. Yes, kids. Blame Namco Bandai when you ask for the $300 for your PS3.

By reading the feature list, it looks like PS3 players get something more out of it:

• Ranked Match and Player Match:
◦ Rank up or work to improve your fighting skills by battling opponents worldwide in online versus mode with voice chat functionality;
• Data Upload & Download:
◦ Create and upload customised ghost characters which accurately replicate your fight style;
◦ Any player in the world can download your ghost to take on your virtual self in a one-on-one battle even when you’re not online;
◦ Upload replays of killer matches to share with friends and opponents around the world.
• Scenario Online Co-op
◦ New feature coming this winter as a free post-launch downloadable update;
◦ Jump into intense two player online co-op campaigns against AI controlled enemies and experience the dramatic large-scale action with friends around the globe.
• Leaderboards
◦ Battle Points: online only, split between World, Asia, America and Europe;
◦ Rank: overall on and offline ranking, from Beginner to TEKKEN God;
◦ Additional rankings include Ranked Match, Scenario Campaign, Time Attack and Survival.

Exclusive PlayStation®Home features include:

• TEKKEN 6 Title Lounge
◦ Host Versus and Co-op Sessions: Gather friends and start matches from the Lounge within PlayStation Home; Online Scenario co-op mode coming free this winter;
◦ Home Rewards: Players have the chance to win exclusive costume pieces and furniture at the Lounge for their personal space.

Ah. PlayStation Home is finally getting some love from the developers.

Namco Bandai also stated that the game will be in solid 60 frames-per-second. We love 60 fps!

After some QA process, Tekken 6 will be available for PS3 and Xbox360 on October 30th, 2009.

Fun Gaming Facts

By exploiting a series of glitches, it’s possible to complete Super Mario 64 after collecting just one of the game’s 120 stars. Normally, you’re required to collect 70 of them.
