If you’re a fan of simple puzzle games, like Peggle, I have a feeling you will enjoy this one very much.
Arachnadoodle is a web-slinging puzzle game available for the iPhone/iPod Touch. You control Boris the Blade…err Boris the Spider. Each stage is scattered with pins, and using your fingers, you must shoot Boris around the room, attempting to make your next webbed masterpiece.
Once the web is down, its time to reap the rewards of your hardwork. With Wagner’s “The Ride of the Valkyries” in the background, a swarm of flies sweep across teh screen, and into your web. The more complex the web, the more flies you catch.
This game looks really fun of course for the puzzle elements, but also for the sound effects. It really speaks to the little kid inside me. I love the farty noises Boris makes when he is spinning his web. I can definitely see myself smiling as I play this. Check out the trailer:
oh yeah, and here’s the features list:
• 32 Levels of instantly addictive web slinging action
• Hit ‘bonus score’ and ‘extra throw’ flies as you whizz around the screen
• Refine your arachnid throwing habits and use elastic and bumper pins to max out your scores
• ‘Death Head Bugs’, ‘Spark Head Bugs’, and electrocuting light bulbs add to the danger
• Open Feint integration, high score tables and achievements
• Use furniture and objects strategically to score even more
• Hit ‘Truck loads a’ pins and build the wickedest web of all
Games have been, over the years, trying to bleed the distinction between reality and video games. Take the original Metal Gear Solid for example: During the battle with Psycho Mantis, the player had to actually change controller ports to prevent Mantis from reading your mind. It was great. And now as newer technology is more and more readily available for consumers, developers have more tools to bring gamers into their world. Turf Wars is one of them.
Turf Wars is a real territory MMO crime game for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Using the OS 3.0′s GPS capabilities, Turf Wars allows players to compete for control, influence, and the title of city mob boss or “Capo” in a real territory.
What this means is you have the opportunity live out your crime lord fantasies in your very own neighborhood, in the palm of your hands. And teh bvest part is, it’s FREE! YES! Free is good. Free is always good.
Heres’s the features list:
• Go directly to the “Turf Map” and begin claiming unoccupied Turf (up to 1 mile from the device’s GPS location). Players continue to acquire Turf anywhere they travel, until their cap has been reached. This limit on total Turf is raised at each level-up.
• Players run a variety of criminal missions in order to gain cash and experience, leveling up their character and increasing their abilities in combat and Turf collection. Players use this cash to purchase over 30 weapons, tools, and Turf upgrades to help beat back other mobsters.
• As Turf is accumulated, players increase their “influence”. Influence is attached to Turf and determines how much a given piece of Turf will earn. The greater the population within a piece of Turf, the greater the influence. Players also bolster a property’s influence by making improvements or defensive upgrades.
• Players can choose to attack other players or simply attack a piece of their Turf. Higher level players will be difficult to defeat without creativity. Competitors will need to chip away at their Turf holdings slowly and methodically.
• Need a helping hand? Players can invite, and be invited by, anyone playing the game to join a mob and help take down the competition. They can also pay tribute to “The Don” to get a real leg up.
With nanotechnology evolving, it’s only a matter of time before doctors will be able to go into the human body and fight diseases at a cellular level! But for those who can’t wait, Assyria Game Studio gives you a sneak peak of what it might be like to travel through the human bloodstream with Bloodsream Raiders.
Available for the iPhone/iPod Touch, Bloodstream Raiders puts you in control of a single white blood cell travelling through veins and arteries to major organs like the heard, lungs and liver, in an attempt to destroy an influenza virus invading the body.
As you make your way through the bloodstream blasting virus cells with antibodies, you will encounter friends and foes, including cholesterol, red blood cells, platelets, bacteria, stronger mutations of the virus and antivirals which can be collected to unleash a stronger attack.
From what we can tell, it looks like a side-scrolling shooter, but with a very interesting premise. This might be a great stress releiver for med students, or those wanting revenge on the flu this season!
Here’s the feature list:
-Campaign mode allows players to fully cleanse the human body of a deadly virus
-Endless Survival mode, playable in Casual and Hardcore difficulties for players who want to be challenged!
-A selection of achievements to earn throughout game progression, as well as rewarding players skill in each mode
Are you a fan of Sudoku? Are you looking for a new challenge? Then this might be the game for you.
Kakuro is a logic puzzle created by Nikoli, a Japanese Publisher who’s popularity and fame became prominent with another one of their logic puzzles: Sudoku.
The basics of Kakuro are very similar to Sudoku. You are given a grid, and you must insert a digit from 1 to 9 in each cell such that the sum of the numbers in each entry matches the clue associated with it, and that no digit is duplicated in any entry… Confused? The rules are basically the same as Sudoku, except that instead of the filling the row/column with numbers 1-9, the sum of these digits have to add up to a certain number. For those who are math savvy, Sudoku is more about permutations while Kakuro is more about combinations.
Here’s a features list for the game:
6 grid sizes, from 5 x 5 to 10 x 10
* 4 difficulty levels
* Pencil mark mode
* Powerful hints
* Undo & Redo last entry
* Convenient and intuitive single-screen user-interface
* Transparent auto-save feature
* Automatic check for duplicates and incorrect sums
* Ability to check filled cells against the solution
So all you math fans, or puzzle fans looking for a new challenge should definitely check this out. You can find out more info on their website. Kakuro Mania is available now at the App Store.
We are back again with more Black Friday stuff! This time, its a game for the iPhone/iPod!
Spooky Spirits: Puzzle Drop!! will drop have a 50% price dop to $0.99, ₤0.59, and €0.79 respectively at the AppStore starting tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day.
For those not familiar with the game, check this trailer out:
So its basically your falling-block puzzle, with a slight twist. You rotate the colors and choose which color sets you drop, instead of manipulating them during or after they drop, allowing more of an opportunity to create chains and combos. Like any good puzzle game, this one also offers various modes:
• In the Panic Mode, players must clear each level by catching an appropriate amount of Spookies before the screen overfills.
• Puzzle Mode is a relaxed mode with no stress – players must outsmart the Spookies’ clever puzzles and beat them in their own game using only a limited number of blocks.
• Eternity Mode is a Tetris-inspired exhaust mode that just keeps going for as long as players can keep it at or reach the max-score of 9,999,999 points (that’s A LOT of Spookies to catch!).
God Hand’s Chihuahua races feature a dog called Mikami’s Head, a reference to the Resi creator’s claim that he’d rather lose his head than see Resident Evil 4 converted to PS2.
