We have some very exciting news today! Hyperkin, a 3rd party developer for video game peripherals, announced the launch of SupaBoy, a handheld designed for SNES cartridges!
The SupaBoy is designed to look like the original SNES contorller, with a 3.5″ screen in the middle. The port is built on top, and can play any original SNES cartridges. Hyperkin also has gone the extra mile and added two front loading ports for full-size, original SNES controllers, and a video/audio out, allowing you to play it with a friend on a TV screen.
So far, Hyperkin has been testing on a prototype, and has found that it is compatible with the Japanese Super Famicom cartridges, as well as the following titles: Super Mario RPG, Starfox, Super Mariod World, Donkey Kong Country, Zelda, Noah’s Ark 3D, and Aerobiz. You can check out all the info on Hyperkin’s website here.

Now this is exciting news. Hyperkin announced that it will be launching the RetroN 3 video game system at E3 this year. This little machine consolidates an NES, SNES, and Genesis into one, wireless console. It includes two wireless controllers as well as two original controller ports for each platform. Sweet.
There was a retro system being sold at a game store near my house called the Retro Duo; it combined the NES and SNES into one system. I have a stockpile of NES, SNES and Super Famicon games from back in the day. My Super Famicon works fine, but the NES is a bit iffy. It was thinking it would be great to be able to play those games again. But I’m glad I didn’t purchase it. Hyperkin has definitely taken it up a notch. I’ll definitely be looking forward to this badboy.
Here’s a little features list:
· 2 Original Controller Ports for Each Platform (6 Total)
· Includes 2 Wireless Controllers
· 3 Cartridge Ports for NES, SNES and SEGA Genesis
· S-Video or Composite AV Inputs
· SRP: $69.99
· Available for testing at E3 Booth #523 South Hall

Hyperkin has released the first 3rd party PS3 remote with a sliding QWERTY keyboard. And I know what some of you maybe thinking: who the hell needs a remote when you can still do everything with your controller? And besides, you can’t play games with a remote! However, it seems Hyperkin has added enough to make this PS3 remote a contender.
First and foremost, it has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, making messaging easier, and more importantly, making you look cool. Obviously it has full control over media playback, and in addition, games as well. It has dual analog stick and buttons you can use to play games too. We haven’t really tested this product out, so we have no idea what the remote feels like as a controller, but theoretically, this remote controls everything a PS3 can do and has convenience and cool-looking features to boost.
• Sliding QWERTY Keyboard Design
• 25ft Wide Angle 2.4GHz RF signal
• Full control of movies, DVD’s, CD’s, media files and games
• Dual analog sticks and buttons
• Rechargeable NiMH battery
• Includes USB charging cable
• SRP: 39.99
