Storm – A Steam Punk style 2D physics game on Xbox LIVE

Posted on 28 September 2010 by GillRider

Here’s an interesting looking game: Storm. As the title of the article states, Storm is a Steam Punk style 2D physics game, where you must defend your base by firing bullets to deflect dark meteors. I know, sounds like a generic retro game, but take a look at the screenshots.

Basically, the draw of the game is its simplistic, 2D Steam Punk visuals, coupled with multiplayer and a procedurally generated game progression that keeps each stage different. At a price of 80 Microsoft Points, this might be a fun little game to play with your friends, without the investment or addiction of a major title.

Key Features:

  • Multi-player – 1 to 4 players can play on your local Xbox 360
  • Procedurally generated game play so that each round is different
  • Collect power-ups to assit against the storm
  • Shields for extra protection
  • Energy power-up for a continus stream of bullets
  • Power Shot makes every shot much stronger
  • Track your high scores locally on your Xbox 360
  • Customize the soundtrack – listen to your own music stored on your Xbox 360
