What would Einstein do – Relativity

Posted on 08 March 2010 by GillRider

Anybody familiar with Eisntein’s theory of Realtivity? I took advanced physics in college, and loved it. But I didn’t find it too conducive to video gaming. But lo and behold, we have an Indie game on the way that claims to have fused the two: Relativity.

We don’t have any assets nor too much information, but here’s what we have thus far.

From what we’ve heard, it looks like a strategy-type game where you are an almighty god figure intent on taking over the universe. You are tasked to colonize and conquer planets, meaning you decide what to build, invent, and of ocurse, how to defend them.

Einstein’s thoery comes into play while you engage in all of your universe controlling endeavors. But not to worry. Understanding the concept of physics is not a prerequisite for taking over the universe. We’re still not so clear on what that means, but apparently, you are going to be able to visualize the effects of the space/time continuum… right. Good thing this comes with a tutorial. Sounds interesting.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more abut this game. Relativity is set to be released in Spring of 2010 on Xbox LIVE Indie Games at 240 Microsoft Points ($3)

Played a pre-release version of this and I must say it is very impressive. Great fun to start with and taxing enough as you move forward. Great game length for an indie game and I would strongly recommend this to anyone!
