Hyperkin releases text friendly PS3 controller

Posted on 23 March 2010 by GillRider

Hyperkin has released the first 3rd party PS3 remote with a sliding QWERTY keyboard. And I know what some of you maybe thinking: who the hell needs a remote when you can still do everything with your controller? And besides, you can’t play games with a remote! However, it seems Hyperkin has added enough to make this PS3 remote a contender.

First and foremost, it has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, making messaging easier, and more importantly, making you look cool. Obviously it has full control over media playback, and in addition, games as well. It has dual analog stick and buttons you can use to play games too. We haven’t really tested this product out, so we have no idea what the remote feels like as a controller, but theoretically, this remote controls everything a PS3 can do and has convenience and cool-looking features to boost.

Product Highlights:
• Sliding QWERTY Keyboard Design
• 25ft Wide Angle 2.4GHz RF signal
• Full control of movies, DVD’s, CD’s, media files and games
• Dual analog sticks and buttons
• Rechargeable NiMH battery
• Includes USB charging cable
• SRP: 39.99
