After Burner: Climax – Classic arcade game is coming back to console

Posted on 19 March 2010 by ClassicMoments

I don’t know if you guys remember the rotating cockpit version of this game in arcade, but this used to be one of my favorite. I wasted so much coins but it was well worth the ride.

And good news to the old arcade junks; SEGA is remaking the After Burner series for the latest generation of gaming consoles.

Well, with the console, you won’t get any hydraulic cockpit system that spins your seat, but  you’ll get a cool HD graphics. How cool? Take a look.

Wowza!
That’s not the visual that I remember from arcade versions of After Burner!

There were some ported versions of console before, but I think this will be the biggest comeback for After Burner franchise. And with the same developers as arcade versions, we’ll be expecting some crazy arcade fun with nostalgic effect.

After Burner: Climax will be released for PS3 and Xbox360. Though no exact date has been confirmed, there’s rumor that it’ll be released in summer of 2010.
