Awhile back we introduced an RTS game for the iPhone/iPod Touch called Judgement Day War. We were pretty excited because we hadn’t seen many RTS games for mobile devices. Now we have  another one to add to the roster: Slug Wars.

No, it’s not an RTS version of Metal Slug. When they say slug, they mean slugs. The units you’ll be controlling aren’t metallic, land roaming juggernauts, but slimy, slow-crawling gastropoda. 

As you can probably tell from the screenshots, this game employs a linear style of RTS where the strategy element lies in managing your queue of units, rather than focusing on how to approach the enemy base. There are a total of 8 different types of combat slugs, ranging from a  gastropodous equivalent of a tank to salt-shaker-wielding kamikazes.

Along with a single-player Campaign mode, Slug Wars also offers Skirmish mode and a two-player “Slug-It-Out” mode where you can plays against a friend.
