More Pokémon news!
Included with the new Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver is a new poke-accessory called the Pokéwalker.
This is a pretty neat little concept. The pokewalker allows the player to carry their favorite pokemon from either of the games around in the real world. Sounds a little poke-obsessive? Perhaps. But this Poké-walking has its merits within the game as well. First and foremost, the Pokémon can gain experience by walking with you. After the player wirelessly transfers their Pokémon to Pokéwalker, and as he walks around in the real world, the Pokémon earns experience points as well as watts. These watts are then used by the Pokéwalker to encounter and catch wild Pokémon or search for hidden items on a virtual route. And those with Pokémon experience I’m sure have guessed by now, that yes, there are special versions of some Pokémon can only be caught on these virtual routes on the Pokéwalker. Pretty sweet idea.
