Aion gives you wings. And people love it.

Today, NCsoft announced that “Aion – Tower of Eternity” set record-breaking numbers; nearly 400,000 gamers have pre-ordered the game. A good number indeed.

Anyone who pre-ordered Aion will be able to play a few days ahead of everyone else. They will be treated to a server Pre-Selection (beginning tomorrow September 18) and a two-day headstart period (beginning September 20).

From its successful launch in Asia, it looks like NCsoft is going to be smiling for awhile. But on the other hand, there are many free-to-play games coming out as well, so we’ll see how many people will stick with it.
