If you bought PS3 recently, and didn’t search enough before you bought it, the good chance is that you were frustrated when you found out that your new spanking PS3 didn’t have PS2 backwards compatibility. Yes, the world is moving to PS3 but still, if you think about it, PS2 had so many great titles to choose from.
Well, there’s a good news, or at least we think it is.
The guys at Mirror.co.kr found a patent of technology that Cell Processor from PS3 directly emulating PS2′s Emotion engine.
Though we’re not sure if they want it to emulate for us to get a free backwards compatibility (which we really think that we deserve), or is to make the emulator just to sell the PS2 titles from PSN. But I say that if you’re a ‘early adopter’ or a hardcore gamer that paid more than $300~$400 for a single PS3 mahcine, I say we deserve a free PS2 emulation. Heck, I say we deserve a free PS2 for our loyalty.
You can more about it on Mirror.
